Tusla Child and Family Agency is about to undertake its first ever national promotional campaign in print, online, on radio and outdoors to highlight the family support services it offers and funds around the country.

Tusla National Child and Family Support Week 17th to 23rd September 2018 aims to create public awareness around services provided by Tusla’s Prevention, Partnership and Family Support (PPFS) programme*.

National Child and Family Support Week has twin strands – a nationwide awareness campaign through advertising, and a co-ordinated series of diverse public events in local areas around Ireland.  It takes place at a time when families and children are getting back into routines following the resumption of the new school and college year. Many CYPSC throughout Ireland have supported the organisation of local events.  Find out what's going in in your county.

Members of the public wishing to contact Tusla during National Child and Family Support Week can visit Tusla.ie for more details, email family.support@tusla.ie or follow #childandfamilyweek on Tusla’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram channels.

*PPFS is Tusla’s prevention and early intervention programme to help children, families, parents and communities in Ireland, and has been in operation for almost three and a half years.

The programme aims to help stop problems experienced by children and families from getting worse, or from developing into a crisis.

It currently receives funding from Atlantic Philanthropies, with the support of the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre at NUI Galway.

The PPFS programme offers a number of comprehensive and accessible services including

  • Meitheal,
  • the Parenting24seven.ie website,
  • Parenting Support Champions/parenting supports,
  • Family Resource Centres,
  • Creative Community Alternatives,
  • and funding for child, youth participation and parenting projects.
