2020 Back To School Campaign

Limerick CYPSC launched its online Back To School campaign at the beginning of August in collaboration with the East Limerick Child and Family Support Network. The campaign is aimed at parents to help them support their children as they transition back to the classroom for the first time in almost six months. It is running throughout August and September.

COVID-19 has brought huge challenges and changes to all our lives. Children and young people have experienced unexpected transitions with school closure and extended time at home. In September our children can expect to return to a school which looks quite different from that experienced previously. This campaign aims to support parents across three tiers of engagement. For more information and resources developed by the campaign, click here.

Resources for Parents and Families

A large amount of resources have been made available through service to child, parents and families. The two below documents have been collated by organisations working in Limerick. While they don't include everything that is available online, they do distill the resources available into simple categories.

Supporting Parents and Families

A document of resources and local supports for parents and families. The Tusla Prevention Partnership and Family Support (PPFS) team and Limerick Children and Young People’s Services Committee (CYPSC) have collaborated with our colleagues in The Genesis Programme in Co. Louth to producing this resource.

LoveParenting,ie

Limerick CYPSC, in collaboration with ABC Start Right developed www.loveparenting.ie. The purpose of LoveParenting is to provide parents with information on elements of how positive parenting can support their child’s development at each stage and how they can access further support. A new element to the website, "Parenting during Covid-19", has been added in recent weeks. It has two sections: “Advice & Information” will offer tips and advice on how to positively support your children and yourself; “Key Messages” will offer some shorter positive messages about parenting during the current restrictions.
