Engaging with young children’s voices: A practical workshop on consultation with young children in early childhood services
'Children are and must be seen as active in the construction of their own lives, the life of those around them and of the societies in which they live- children are not just the passive subjects of social structures and processes' (James and Prout, 1990).

Supported by a Tusla Participation Seed Grant, the Galway Children and Young People’s Services Committee and the Athenry Child and Family Support Network worked with 33 transition year students from three second level schools in Athenry, Co. Galway, to design and undertake a major research study into the perceived service needs of young people in the area.
