Supporting Transitions
Moving from preschool to ‘big school’ is an important, exciting but often stressful and daunting transition for young children and their parents. To ease potential difficulties and to promote a more successful and smooth transition between preschool and primary school, it is vital that there is partnership between both settings and that a system for transferring information is in place.

Voices of Leavign Cert Students who are members of the Traveller Community
'Going for our dreams in a racist society' presents a narrative account of the way secondary school was experienced by five members of Traveller Community in Galway. Young Travellers from diff
erent areas of County Galway were invited to participate in a conversation about their experiences in school, their culture and the things and people that were important to them. This material was compiled by Galway Traveller Movement in partnership with Dr. Siobhán Madden. Contributors hope that their stories will help other Travellers in school, and teachers, to have a better understadning of what it is like to be a Traveller student.
