An Introduction to Disability Equality, Inclusion and Human Rights

               

This eLearning module was developed to introduce Disability Equality, Inclusion and Human Rights training for the Community & Voluntary sectors. The aim of the learning is to enhance understanding and awareness of disability as a human rights and social inclusion issue and will support staff and volunteers to reflect on and improve work practice. It will support learners  by enhancing their understanding of disability and barriers to participation. It will also outline their responsibilities in including disabled people in their work in accordance with the UN Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In completing the eLearning training it is anticipated that learners will embed disability inclusion within their practice thereby improving quality of life outcomes for children and young people

The module is an intervactive blend, providing statutory information & understanding with mulitple- choice style questionnaire and concluding reflective assessment, leading to a certification of completion.

The elearning module was developed by DESSA, CYPSCs in Dublin City and South County, Waterford and Wexford, Independent Living Movement Ireland (ILMI) and St. Angela’s College (part of Atlantic Technological University).
