Certificate in Child Protection

The National Co-ordinator for Children and Young People's Services Committees provided an input into the National Youth Council of Ireland's (NYCI) Certificate in Child Protection and Welfare in early 2016.

Course participants are drawn from a diverse range of services working with young people in Ireland includng youth services, An Garda Síochána, City and County Councils, Community Development and Sports organisations.

The presentation formed part of the course's Partnership Module and covered topics including:

  • evidence in interagency working
  • the role and structures of CYPSC 
  • national policy pertaining to children and young people
  • alignment with state programmes for children and young people

The certificate is one of a number of offerings from NYCI's child protection programme.
