The Department of Justice and Equality invites applications from voluntary, not-for-profit organisations for its Disability Awareness Raising Grant Scheme 2016.  The aim is to support the promotion of positive attitudes towards persons with disabilities.

The National Disability Authority on behalf of the Department of Justice and Equality has a call out for applications for funding under the Department’s Disability Awareness Raising Grant Scheme 2016. The aim of the scheme is to support the promotion of positive attitudes towards persons with disabilities.

Applications are now invited from organisations with proposals that raise awareness of disability and that demonstrate effective action to improve attitudes towards persons with disabilities. Grant awards will range from €5,000 to a maximum of €40,000 per project.

Project proposals should raise awareness and promote positive attitudes to persons with disabilities in general but particularly in these areas:

  • delivering mainstream services and information
  • community activities
  • employment
  • sporting activities
  • social activities
  • media
  • education
  • local business
