To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Year of the Family, the Parent Hub Donegal highlighted and promoted the many different services that support children and families throughout the county.
The Parenting Hub Donegal convened by the Donegal Children and Young People's Services Committee is an interagency group given the responsibility of identifying supports for parents throughout the county.
Donegal Family Week ran from Monday 10th November to Friday 14th November 2014.
Events held looked at a wide variety of issues affecting family life including mental health, healthy eating, parenting, online safety, parenting when separated, being a carer, and family fun events.

Young Carer’s Seminar:
Tuesday 11th November, Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny from 9.30am - 12.30pm.
Young Carers throughout Donegal were invited to this event to hear from those working with young carers and from young carers themselves regarding how best to support them in their caring role. Please click here for more information.
Parent Information Fair:
Thursday 13th November, Central Library, Letterkenny from 10.00am - 4.00pm.
The Information Fair gave parents the opportunity to learn about the services that are available to support them on their journey through parenting. A number of talks on specific topics of interest to parents were held throughout the day. Please click here for more information.
Launch of the Parents Plus Parenting When Separated Initiative:

The Parenting Hub Donegal made a successful application to fund the training of twenty facilitators to deliver the Parents Plus Parenting When Separated Programme. Michelle Murphy, Parents Plus, co-designer of the programme discussed the programme and the benefits it can have for parents and children going through Separation. Foróige led the Mc Afee and Foróige Online Safety Programme with Foróige groups in the Rosses Neighbourhood Youth Project throughout the week.
