Ballymote Family Resource Centre Launches New “Safe to Call” Space, Sligo Leitrim CYPSC was delighted to support the official launch of the new Safe to Call space at Ballymote Family Resource Centre in collaboration with DVAS.
Monday 25th May: Sligo Leitrim Children & Young People’s Services Committees (CYPSC), along with Councillor Paddy Farrell, Cathaoirleach Leitrim County Council, and Councillor Donal Gilroy Cathaoirleach, Sligo County Council, jointly launched a new research report entitled “Young People Leading the Mental Health Conversation” in Sligo & Leitrim.

The digital world offers many great opportunities for children and young people. However with this comes many challenges that parents sometimes find difficult to address. This resource has been developed by Sligo Leitrim CYPSC to support parents/guardians with practical guidance on online saftey, healthy habits and screentime.

On 15th December 2025, Sligo Leitrim CYPSC in collaboration with Home Youth Liaison Service (HYLS) was proud to support the official launch of the Autism Support Service Evaluation at the Glasshouse. The event was very well attended, reflecting the strong commitment to improving services and outcomes for autistic children and young people. We were delighted to welcome Minister Marion Harkin who addressed attendees alongside local councillors and key community representatives. The launch marked an important step in strengthening collaboration and reaffirming our collective commitment to enhancing autism supports across both counties.
A major new milestone for youth work and digital creativity in Sligo was reached this week with the official launch of the North Wests first-ever Digital Youth Hub at The Crib Sligo.
