A guidance document for how CYPSC and Local Community Development Committees will work together to ensure the best outcomes for all children and young people was recently issued to all CYPSC by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.

It describes how Local Community Development Committees (LCDC) and CYPSC will work together to ensure the best outcomes for all children and young people in each LCDC area. The document also sets out how engagement between the structures should be progressed.

This document has been agreed between the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and will complement and frame arrangements contained in the Template for a joint protocol between a Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and a relevant local statutory structure, committee or other body established by a State organisation that is involved in local or community development.

The Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government will issue this guidance document to their LCDC members.
