The first CYPSC National Steering Group meeting of the year was held recently welcoming a new Chairperson, Noelle Spring.
A message from Noelle reads
"It is with great pleasure that I have accepted the role of Chairperson of the CYPSC National Steering Group. I am honoured to have been appointed by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and hope that I can make a positive contribution to this important role. I am very aware of the objectives and context within which the Children and Young People Services Committees operate and the importance of building a strong and effective infrastructure to support inter-agency work across services, to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.
I would like to acknowledge the vast amount of work that has been done to date by all of those involved and I look forward to contributing, to the best of my ability, to building on this and strengthening the impact of CYPSC.
My own professional background includes social work, community development and latterly director of a Foundation. The common thread throughout my career is working to improve services to children and families through collaboration and connecting practice, research and policy. I look forward to working with the other members of the National Steering Group to support the local committees and to connecting with the Children and Young People’s Policy Consortium, on behalf of CYPSC.
I would like to acknowledge the work of my predecessor, Dr Shealah Ryan and to reassure her and all of those involved, of my commitment to further strengthen the strong culture of inter-agency working across services. I look forward to the many opportunities and challenges that are ahead and to working together to improve outcomes for children, young people and families throughout Ireland."
