Tipperary Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP) is the culmination of consultations with children, young people, parents and front-line staff in children and young people's services.

A dual launch of the Tipperary CYPP 2018-2020 and of a Needs Analysis of LGBT* Youth report took place in Thurles County Tipperary.  The event was hosted by Tipperary CYPSC.  It was attended by some 80 staff from the voluntary and statutory sectors working with children and young people, aged 0 - 24 years, across the county.

A highlight of the launch event was a vox pop video from the Tipperary Comhairle na nÓg Annual General Meeting which features a number of young people expressing their views about what they consider are the main issues for their age group in the county.

Ruairi McKiernan, Social Innovator, Campaigner and founder of pioneering website SpunOut.ie, as keynote speaker, acknowledged the findings of the Children and Young People's Plan.  He wished Tipperary CYPSC well in its ambitions to respond in a cohesive way to the needs of children, young people and families.

The Tipperary Children and Young People's Plan is informed by consultations with children, young people, parents and front-line staff, as well as socio-demographic information from the latest Census. It sets out the priority issues to be addressed for children and young people in the county across the areas of health, education and learning, employment, welfare and safety, and inclusion in community and society.

The Children and Young People's Plan is the blueprint for Tipperary CYPSC in implementing a range of actions for Youth Mental Wellbeing, Parental Support, Healthy Eating and Physical Activity.

The key principle of the plan is inter-agency collaboration and the support of common objectives, such as the Healthy Tipperary Strategy

The Needs analysis of LGBT* Youth report was launched by Lisa McGrath, Youthwork Ireland Tipperary. It represents the views of young people in County Tipperary who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or other sexual identity.  The report highlights the importance of the existing supports for the young people and for the adults working in their support services.
