Wexford CYPSC and Wexford Library Service Launch “Parenting Today”: A Series of Free Talks in County Wexford Libraries in 2018.

Wexford CYPSC has collaborated with the Wexford Library Service to organise a series of talks for parents/guardians.  The series is designed to give information to parents on many of the topics they encounter on a daily basis.

Throughout 2018 talks will be delivered by professionals from the care, education and health sectors and cover a diverse range of topics from special childcare provision, supports for people parenting children with autism, cyber safety, healthy eating and suicide prevention to mention but a few.

The initiative was formally launched by the Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council, Cllr. John Hegarty who remarked that this was a very positive initiative for the county.

This was followed by a keynote lecture by Stella O’Malley, writer and psychotherapist.  Her talk entitled “Cotton Wool Kids – What’s Making Irish Parents Paranoid?”  was well received by the many parents who attended the event.

This is the first collaboration of this kind between Wexford CYPSC and the Library service and it is hoped to build on it in the years to come.

The Parenting Today brochure is available to download on the resources section of Wexford CYPSC’s website at www.wexfordcypsc.ie/resources
