Louth CYPSC is delighted to announce an exciting initiative with Dundalk Credit Union and the Health Service Executive to encourage children and young people to write letters to those who are cocooning during the Covid 19 crisis.
This initiative will connect people of all ages and send notes of hope and happiness to those who need it most.
Dundalk Credit Union is asking children and young people to take some time out to write to an older person who is cocooning because of COVID-19. Letters can be about their day, their hobbies and other news and will let older people join in the conversations of young people for a little while; providing a window out into the world when our older people are asked to stay indoors to stay safe and healthy.
Dundalk Credit Union will then work with all the great COVID-19 support networks across the community to have the letters delivered to older people across the community.
What a lovely way to stay connected and bring older and younger people closer together!
Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Dr. Katherine Zappone noted recently
"Our physical world might have shrunk but our imaginations are limitless, so please keep creating, innovating and connecting to one another."
This thoughtful initiative is a heart warming example of just how we can get together and create something wonderfully special.
Louth CYPSC asks that everyone gets behind this great local collaboration.
