The Irish Primary Principals' Network (IPPN) and National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals (NAPD) are organising a one day symposium on the 4th November 2015 titled 'Emotional Wellbeing – at the heart of school communities'. The event is setting out to challenge current thinking on how emotional wellbeing is handled in the education sector and what we can all do to embed a culture of wellbeing in our schools.

Speakers on the day include:

  • Conor Cusack – Wellbeing ‘Ambassador’
  • Dr. Niall Muldoon, Ombudsman for Children
  • Colma Nic Lughadha – National Co-ordinator for Children and Young People’s Services Committees
  • Dr. Rosaleen McElvaney – Nursing and Human Sciences, Dublin City University
  • Gordon Jeyes – Chief Executive, Tusla the Child and Family Agency

What are the benefits of attending?

  • Develop an understanding of the emotional wellbeing issues among children and teachers in our schools
  • Identify what schools and teachers can do to develop a culture of wellbeing in our schools
  • Agree a way forward for the system to improve the services and supports offered to schools and families
