Providing a comprehensive picture of the lives of children in Ireland the State of the Nation’s Children Report 2016 has just been published by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA).

The report is prepared and issued by DCYA every two years and will be of interest to CYPSC members and CYPSC Sub-group members working together to enhance the provision of services to children and young people.

It focuses on child outcomes in key areas such as health and education, as well as social, emotional and behavioural outcomes.  It also provides important demographic data that can inform CYPSC understandings not just about the present but also about what might be needed into the future to deliver better for children and young people.

All CYPSC across Ireland develop an evidence-informed, three-year Children and Young People’s Plan.  The State of the Nation’s Children Report is an important resource for CYPSC to utilise when identifying local need and designing local responses.
