The Healthy Food for All National Conference is being held on 15 April 2015 at the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland, Dublin. This conference is for those with an interest in shaping policy responses to food poverty among children and young people in Ireland.

Healthy Food for All is an all-island charity addressing food poverty by promoting access, availability and affordability of healthy food for low-income groups.

The conference will advance solutions to food poverty among children and young people in Ireland. In the context of Better Outcomes, Brighter Futures, and building on the evidence from models of good practice, this is an important opportunity to influence the development of a national response to eradicating food poverty.

Speakers at the conference include Dr Niall MuldoonOmbudsman for Children; Ms Norah Gibbons, Chairperson, TUSLA, Child & Family Agency; and Ms Georgina BuffiniDevelopment Worker, Healthy Food for All.

Four parallel workshops will provide a forum to highlight existing good practice solutions and to explore new opportunities for advancing this work at a national level. The four sessions are:

  1. Lessons Learnt from a Partnership Approach
  2. Towards a National Policy on Food in Schools
  3. Opportunities to Address Food Poverty in Youth Settings
  4. A Rights Based Approach to Tackling Food Poverty
