Clare CYPSC are launching an initiative to create and distribute 1,000 “Think, Feel, Do Bears”. These are sensory bears designed for children in care and IPAS centres, and other vulnerable groups who may benefit from this support, across Co Clare.
On 24th April, the Restorative Clare in Action event brought together over 80 professionals, practitioners and young people to celebrate the impact of restorative practice across County Clare since 2019. The event highlighted how restorative approaches have been helping to build stronger relationships, reduce conflict and improve wellbeing in schools, community organisations and everyday life.
In partnership with Clare CYPSC, Helium Arts delivered a two-day parent peer support programme, “Family Connect: Meet, Create, Chat” on the on 30th-31st March 2026, in CBS Ennis. The programme included four creative workshop sessions for parents of children with long-term physical health conditions. Parents participated in facilitated arts activities, while also having opportunities for peer connections in a supportive environment. The Chronic Health Advocate organisations supported the programme onsite, providing information and access to their relaxation “recharge” chair, which proved particularly popular.

On the 20th March, Clare CYPSC attended an Infant Mental Health information session held at the Maria Assumpta Hall, Ennis. The event was organised by the HSE Clare Primary Care Psychology Department. The session was led by Dr Jeananne Garavan, Senior Clinical Psychologist Primary Care in Mayo, who shared her experience of establishing an Infant Mental Health Network in Co Mayo.
On the 27th January 2026, Karina and Orla from QuareClare joined us for an interactive workshop on LGBTQIA+ inclusion, aimed at fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for all. Members of CYPSC and colleagues attended and gained a comprehensive overview of the organisation and its mission and the work it does within the community.
As a promotional tool the Clare CYPSC is delighted to offer every secondary school and youth facility in Clare a premium-quality roller banner featuring details of the Heads Up Clare youth mental health website. The aim is to ensure young people know where to go to access reliable information and support within the county.
Several schools in the Clare area received brand new Buddy Benches through funding secured by Clare CYPSC. Four bespoke benches were provided to schools with the highest number of IPAS students. Each bench features a plaque acknowledging the funder and the word “Welcome” engraved in multiple languages.
In mid-October, Sonia and Mags from The Irish Childhood Bereavement Network (ICBN) facilitated an engaging workshop for professionals organised by Clare CYPSC at the Ennis Digitial Hub on the Quin Road, Ennis.
In February 2021, the Clare CYPSC was delighted to invite international author and psychologist, Mr. Steve Biddulph to deliver two online master classes to parents and practitioners on the topics of Raising Boys and Raising Girls.
