Wexford Children & Young People's Services Committee's plan identifies priorities and commitments for collaboration for children and young people right through to 2019.

The Children and Young People's plan was formally launched by the Chairperson of Wexford County Council, Cllr John Hegarty.  The three-year plan aims to improve outcomes for children and young people in County Wexford.

Vincent Daly, Chairperson of Wexford CYPSC and TUSLA Child and Family Agency Area Manager in Waterford and Wexford notes that

"This plan builds on the positive inter-agency work that is already happening in Co. Wexford.  It is the culmination of several years work and it is only possible due to the huge commitment of CYPSC Committee and Working Group members.  A large number of agencies and organisations from the community, voluntary and statutory sectors have been involved in the CYPSC planning process.  Over 30 organisations are currently involved in Wexford CYPSC Working Groups.

I would like to pay tribute to their work and commitment to the process.  CYPSC is essentially about agencies and organisations working together to improve outcomes for children and young people up to the age of 24.  It requires inter-agency co-operation and collaboration.  It is often challenging and difficult work but is truly worthwhile when we can see positive outcomes for the children and young people in our county."

Wexford's plan includes actions to promote positive sexual health, reduce teen smoking, develop early literacy, support children and young people affected by domestic violence and reduce rural isolation.
